Narrative:
Inverter failure caused temperature loss of autoplt, flight directors, and gyro. During reorientation and inverter fail down aircraft loss 500'. Immediately return to FL370 and notified ATC, controller remarked there was no traffic conflict.

Title: CPR ACFT LOST 500' WHEN AUTOPLT FAILED.
Narrative: INVERTER FAILURE CAUSED TEMP LOSS OF AUTOPLT, FLT DIRECTORS, AND GYRO. DURING REORIENTATION AND INVERTER FAIL DOWN ACFT LOSS 500'. IMMEDIATELY RETURN TO FL370 AND NOTIFIED ATC, CTLR REMARKED THERE WAS NO TFC CONFLICT.
