Narrative:

Was indicating 35-40 mph during takeoff from runway 34. Wind was about 10-20 KTS and varying at 280 degrees. Sudden gust WX-vaned the plane abruptly to the left, off the concrete and onto the grass, causing nose wheel strut to collapse, blade strike and dent in right wing tip when aircraft nosed over. Pilot was 8 days out of medical at time of incident. Pilot renewed medical 3 days later.

Title: TKOF ROLL, SUDDEN GUST, ACFT WX-VANES OFF RWY. NOSE STRUT COLLAPSE, WING TIP DAMAGED ON NOSE-OVER.

Narrative: WAS INDICATING 35-40 MPH DURING TKOF FROM RWY 34. WIND WAS ABOUT 10-20 KTS AND VARYING AT 280 DEGS. SUDDEN GUST WX-VANED THE PLANE ABRUPTLY TO THE LEFT, OFF THE CONCRETE AND ONTO THE GRASS, CAUSING NOSE WHEEL STRUT TO COLLAPSE, BLADE STRIKE AND DENT IN RIGHT WING TIP WHEN ACFT NOSED OVER. PLT WAS 8 DAYS OUT OF MEDICAL AT TIME OF INCIDENT. PLT RENEWED MEDICAL 3 DAYS LATER.
