Narrative:
We had to de-ice; we ran the engine start checklist to the line; and then went into the pre-de-ice checklist; and that checklist leads to an engine start; so the normal engine start checklist below the line did not get read; we did however accomplish all of the items on the normal checklist. We were careful to complete the de-ice checklist and since the checklist lead you to an engine start; and a flight control check; the normal below the line checklist was missed. It is my opinion that if de-ice operations are necessary the de-ice flip cards should substitute the normal checklist after the originating checklist; from the engine start checklist to and below the line up to the before takeoff checklist. It would avoid confusion from jumping from one checklist to another.
