Narrative:
After a briefing packed pre-departure phase by dispatch and hnl WX service for a WX problem, then a mechanical problem, aircraft was started and taxied to runway 8 for takeoff at takeoff end. Tower gave wind as 310/05, cleared into position. Aircraft pack air conditioning was turned off. I thought that would make takeoff legal with 2 KT tailwind. Then clrd for takeoff. After takeoff, I had second thoughts so consulted takeoff performance section again. I now think takeoff was not legal. The briefing, mechanical, and late night departure created a hurry up situation. Also, specific approval is required for use of runway 26 and that thought stays in ones mind.
