Narrative:

While landing at montgomery airport in san diego, (runway 28R) I ran out of runway and went into overrun area beyond threshold a distance of about 20'. There was no damage. During approach, afternoon sun was in my eyes. This resulted in poor approach, poor airplane handling. I should have gone around tried again. Afternoon sun made it difficult to see runway end and I thought I had more runway left when all of a sudden, I could see the numbers at the end. Conditions were compounded by haze and dust on windshield. Basically, I should have gone around and made a stabilized approach.
