Narrative:
Upon arrival to the gate in ord; the marshaller had signaled the straight in taxi procedure; red-lighted wands; until the aircraft had reached the designated position to stop and park. The marshaller had failed to detect the location and position of a luggage cart that was within close proximity of the right wingtip; an aircraft strike had ensued following the event when the right wingtip made contact with the misplaced luggage cart.the weather at the time was light and blowing snow. The ground was wet and slushy from the de-icing fluid and snow on the ground. The taxi line and the red silhouette outline of the plane was not visible. Visual identification of the outline for a secured parking spot was hard to detect without a proper marshaller and wing walkers.
