Narrative:
While towing B757 aircraft to gate; the left wing made contact with the jet bridge which was 30 feet forward of the stow box. [Another aircraft] departed the gate not too long before towing up the 757. The ramp employees who worked the flight advised that the jet bridge was properly stowed prior to dispatching the flight and some unknown individual had to have come by and extended it out and left it. Another mitigating factor was the red paint was faded marking out the stow box and the jet bridge clearance/movement area and a heavy coating of deicing salt added to the inability to visually aid in the fact that it was not stowed properly.
