Narrative:
While descending on approach to martin state (mtn) for landing at dusk, on a 198 degree radial off of lancaster VOR and talking with martin state control tower, was off course easterly and was on approach to edgewood airport (edg). Realized mistake and turned north to get away from a restr area, may have nipped the edge of restr area. Should have contacted radar for vectors to martin state, which I did eventually who directed me on a 230 degree course to martin state. In order to prevent this event I should have contacted baltimore approach when 20 mi northeast, and should not have trusted lancaster VOR 198 degree radial because VOR was about 55 mi away and not that reliable.
