Narrative:
As the PIC entering the localizer/glideslope ILS with the autopilot and altitude hold engaged. Starting the turn and descent there was an issue involving trim and autopilot malfunction. Upon trying to correct and figure out the issue in IMC; the plane got in an unusual attitude creating an overcompensation of up and down to regain correct attitude and try to override the issue with the autopilot. Upon disengaging the autopilot and correcting the trim control; leveled out and was vectored back around to rejoin the ILS and flew a flawless approach in. Factors of strong crosswind and trim not correct contributed to an unusual attitude when the autopilot developed an issue. Upon landing PIC took the plane to the shop for inspection.
