Narrative:
I landed gear up in a cessna-172RG on runway. This was a night flight with the purpose of renewing my night currency for carrying passengers. The week before I completed a BFR in a C172RG and I decided to immediately get night current. On this flight I was a little fatigued but pushed on. My preflight included mounting my ipad to the yoke which provided foreflight navigation information. The ipad also blocked some of the instruments including the gear position lights. On downwind I delayed lowering the landing gear to extend downwind for approach. I forgot to go back and lower the gear and was reminded when the aircraft landed gear up. I was the only person onboard and was not injured. The aircraft sustained propeller damage and scrapes on the bottom. I believe that positioning the ipad in a way so as not to obstruct the gear position lights would have prevented this incident. Also it would have been beneficial to fly with an instructor on my first night flight in over a year in an aircraft that I had on 1.3 recent hours in. I hope that this input serves to prevent a repeat.
