Narrative:
After landing we were advised that our gate was occupied and we were directed to taxi to the 'ball park.' number 2 engine was shut down during taxi. Gate became available prior to entering the 'ball park.' taxi in to the gate was normal; but we got stuck in a hole a few feet short and I was unable to maintain forward momentum with less than 45% N1; so I set the parking break and directed the first officer to shut down the number 1 engine. Ramp towed us into the proper parking position. I observed the jetway moving towards the aircraft and then stopping; investigating the cause of the delay I observed a ramp employee's foot pinned under one of the jetway wheels. I advised maintenance of the situation knowing that they probably had the best resources to muster an immediate rescue. Multiple attempts to ram the jetway free of the victims' foot were made with a tug to no avail. Eventually; a large tug was used to ram the jetway free from the victim. I was told; although I did not observe; that the employee was run over in the process of moving the external air hose away from the jetway wheel.
