Narrative:

My student and I took off from opf on runway 27R in small aircraft, as we do twice a week. After takeoff we turned to a heading of 340 degrees, as specified in the clearance and climbing to 2000'. After about 2 mins the controller of opf tower told us to contact mia departure control and we did so. Then the controller cleared us to what we believe was 5000' (our IFR clearance altitude was 6000'). But, after a short while, I realized that we don't get cleared to 5000' so fast. At that time we were already at 2300', so I requested the controller to confirm this 5000' clearance. The controller said, 'negative, I cleared you for 2000'--climb and maintain 3000'.' I acknowledged 3000' and continued on our heading of 340 degrees. After about 5 mins we realized that we hadn't heard anything from the departure control. In fact, we were experiencing a stuck microphone, so I disconnected it and used another one to call the departure control. I reestablished radio communication and the controller said that he tried to call us several times because we were entering the departure path of fll and because of us they had to deviate many commercial jets. The controller then made us turn to a heading of 270 degrees and gave us a phone # to call once we would be on the ground. When we got back on the ground at srq, I called mia departure T this # and talked to explain to me what kind of situation we caused and said that because I had never been convicted of any violation before, he was not going to file any report against me. The reason why I am writing this report to you is because I would like to have your point of view about this kind of situation. I am open to any advice and plan on visiting the mia departure facility.

Title: SMA TWIN LOSES COM DUE STUCK MICROPHONE AND PENETRATES FLL DEP LANES NECESSITATING RECLEARING SEVERAL ACR ACFT TO MAINTAIN SEPARATION.

Narrative: MY STUDENT AND I TOOK OFF FROM OPF ON RWY 27R IN SMA, AS WE DO TWICE A WK. AFTER TKOF WE TURNED TO A HDG OF 340 DEGS, AS SPECIFIED IN THE CLRNC AND CLBING TO 2000'. AFTER ABOUT 2 MINS THE CTLR OF OPF TWR TOLD US TO CONTACT MIA DEP CTL AND WE DID SO. THEN THE CTLR CLRED US TO WHAT WE BELIEVE WAS 5000' (OUR IFR CLRNC ALT WAS 6000'). BUT, AFTER A SHORT WHILE, I REALIZED THAT WE DON'T GET CLRED TO 5000' SO FAST. AT THAT TIME WE WERE ALREADY AT 2300', SO I REQUESTED THE CTLR TO CONFIRM THIS 5000' CLRNC. THE CTLR SAID, 'NEGATIVE, I CLRED YOU FOR 2000'--CLB AND MAINTAIN 3000'.' I ACKNOWLEDGED 3000' AND CONTINUED ON OUR HDG OF 340 DEGS. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINS WE REALIZED THAT WE HADN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM THE DEP CTL. IN FACT, WE WERE EXPERIENCING A STUCK MIC, SO I DISCONNECTED IT AND USED ANOTHER ONE TO CALL THE DEP CTL. I REESTABLISHED RADIO COM AND THE CTLR SAID THAT HE TRIED TO CALL US SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE WE WERE ENTERING THE DEP PATH OF FLL AND BECAUSE OF US THEY HAD TO DEVIATE MANY COMMERCIAL JETS. THE CTLR THEN MADE US TURN TO A HDG OF 270 DEGS AND GAVE US A PHONE # TO CALL ONCE WE WOULD BE ON THE GND. WHEN WE GOT BACK ON THE GND AT SRQ, I CALLED MIA DEP T THIS # AND TALKED TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT KIND OF SITUATION WE CAUSED AND SAID THAT BECAUSE I HAD NEVER BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY VIOLATION BEFORE, HE WAS NOT GOING TO FILE ANY RPT AGAINST ME. THE REASON WHY I AM WRITING THIS RPT TO YOU IS BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE YOUR POINT OF VIEW ABOUT THIS KIND OF SITUATION. I AM OPEN TO ANY ADVICE AND PLAN ON VISITING THE MIA DEP FAC.
