Narrative:
We were held up on downwind for inbound traffic on final; then told to follow a B787 on final. We descended from 5;000 feet on downwind to 4;000 feet on base; then turned final. We were around 190 knots with flaps 15; and as the captain lowered the nose; the airspeed increased. I let him know we were accelerating; and we got to 200 knots; but I didn't think we went past that; although we got the overspeed alert after landing. The captain used some s-turns on final to help get down; but we were high on final. We crossed 1;000 feet AGL at 1;000 feet vvi; but we were still high; so the captain lowered to nose and the vvi increased to 1;500 feet around 700 feet AGL. I said we were too steep; and again that I was uncomfortable with the approach; then I called a go-around. At that point we arrived on path and at 1;000 feet vvi; and the captain continued the approach to landing. This bothered me; but we were stable at that point. We debriefed on the ground.
