Narrative:
While established on L451 between leton and ilido; approx. 80 nm south of ilido; lost radio communication with new york arinc on both primary; secondary and other HF frequencies. Had tried to log-on cpdlc with zwy multiple times; but each time was rejected. Was able to contact zwy via satcom with position report and they confirmed log-on attempts and showed correct information on their end but indicated there were 'periods' before and after the aircraft tail number (these were not on the log-on screen in the aircraft). Coordinated with zwy on satcom to contact jax center [5 mins] prior to jains. [Another] flight contacted us on 121.5 saying arinc was trying to communicate [to us]. Attempted contact on that frequency and was unsuccessful until 80 nm of jains when contact was finally made [us]. Jax center (ZJX) was contacted shortly after on VHF. No further comm. Issues for remainder of flight.
