Narrative:
Aircraft X was level at 11;000 and given clearance direct provi. A few minutes later; I issued a descend via clearance to the aircraft for runway 22L at bos. The pilot read back correctly. Minutes after; I was issuing aircraft X a clearance direct krann when I noticed the aircraft descending out of 10;700. I immediately changed the clearance verbiage and issued an altitude instruction to maintain 11;000 along with the clearance to krann. This occurred about 15 miles west of provi (base altitude at provi is at or above 11;000). The aircraft continued down to 10;400 as I was calling pvd approach to point out the aircraft. After the coordination; I advised aircraft X that the base altitude at provi was 11;000 and to maintain 11;000 until krann as that too is the base altitude.more training for pilots to understand how [to] fly a descend via clearance. It is becoming harder and harder to trust that the procedure works safely.
