Narrative:
I was on take-off roll; the tailwheel unlocked and the aircraft drifted towards the left edge of the runway. I added full power which caused more left turning and it went off into the grass striking a runway identifier sign. The airplane became airborne and I flew it to the destination after observing that it was flying normally. The sign was destroyed but there was no damage to the airplane. Later I determined that the tire hit the sign and missed everything else on the airplane. The tailwheel was repaired to keep from unlocking and causing this situation again.
