Narrative:

On takeoff the master caution light flickered as the power was advanced and the captain reduced thrust to check the annunciator but there was no light. He readvanced the throttle and this time we saw the left and right fuel low pressure lights on and made the abort. The estimated speed was below 60 KIAS. Thrust reversers were engaged and automatic brakes kicked in and we stopped west/O incident. After turning off the runway it was discovered that the fuel boost pumps in the left and right tanks were off. I missed this in the before engine start check and there was no obvious indication that the pumps were off until takeoff power was applied. An uneventful takeoff was then accomplished with the pumps on. My normal before start flow was interrupted during the pushback as I stopped to clear for obstructions and I started back into the procedure thinking the pumps were on. Since a center boost pump was on there was no way to catch the mistake west/O noticing the switches in the wrong position until a large fuel demand was required. Supplemental information from acn 154455: a contributory factor was that there is no light indicating fuel boost pump switch position for the medium large transport series aircraft. Only has low fuel pressure lights.

Title: FLT CREW OF ACR MLG DEPARTING SAN FORGET TO TURN ON FUEL BOOST PUMPS PRIOR TO TKOF. CAPT ABORTS TKOF WHEN FUEL LOW PRESSURE WARNING IS ACTIVATED ON TKOF ROLL.

Narrative: ON TKOF THE MASTER CAUTION LIGHT FLICKERED AS THE PWR WAS ADVANCED AND THE CAPT REDUCED THRUST TO CHK THE ANNUNCIATOR BUT THERE WAS NO LIGHT. HE READVANCED THE THROTTLE AND THIS TIME WE SAW THE LEFT AND RIGHT FUEL LOW PRESSURE LIGHTS ON AND MADE THE ABORT. THE ESTIMATED SPD WAS BELOW 60 KIAS. THRUST REVERSERS WERE ENGAGED AND AUTO BRAKES KICKED IN AND WE STOPPED W/O INCIDENT. AFTER TURNING OFF THE RWY IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL BOOST PUMPS IN THE LEFT AND RIGHT TANKS WERE OFF. I MISSED THIS IN THE BEFORE ENG START CHK AND THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS INDICATION THAT THE PUMPS WERE OFF UNTIL TKOF PWR WAS APPLIED. AN UNEVENTFUL TKOF WAS THEN ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE PUMPS ON. MY NORMAL BEFORE START FLOW WAS INTERRUPTED DURING THE PUSHBACK AS I STOPPED TO CLR FOR OBSTRUCTIONS AND I STARTED BACK INTO THE PROC THINKING THE PUMPS WERE ON. SINCE A CENTER BOOST PUMP WAS ON THERE WAS NO WAY TO CATCH THE MISTAKE W/O NOTICING THE SWITCHES IN THE WRONG POS UNTIL A LARGE FUEL DEMAND WAS REQUIRED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 154455: A CONTRIBUTORY FACTOR WAS THAT THERE IS NO LIGHT INDICATING FUEL BOOST PUMP SWITCH POS FOR THE MLG SERIES ACFT. ONLY HAS LOW FUEL PRESSURE LIGHTS.
