Narrative:

Reporting aircraft was flying the published left hand traffic pattern to runway 16 with a first time student. Announced turning left downwind. Did not announce base. Did announce turning final to runway 16. Aircraft was approximately 1 mi out and 500' AGL. The PIC was PF from the right seat and just after turning final observed the other (faster) aircraft below and slightly to the right. The second aircraft proceeded to the runway and landed, forcing the reporting aircraft to abort the approach to landing. The second aircraft had approached the airport from the west and made a right turn to land west/O regard for other traffic or published patterns. Apparently the pilot of the small transport failed to familiarize himself with the airport of intended landing and as a result violated a number of FARS and created a very hazardous situation.

Title: INSTRUCTOR PLT USING STANDARD LEFT HAND PATTERN AT UNCONTROLLED FIELD HAS NMAC WITH ACFT USING RIGHT HAND PATTERN.

Narrative: RPTING ACFT WAS FLYING THE PUBLISHED L HAND TFC PATTERN TO RWY 16 WITH A FIRST TIME STUDENT. ANNOUNCED TURNING L DOWNWIND. DID NOT ANNOUNCE BASE. DID ANNOUNCE TURNING FINAL TO RWY 16. ACFT WAS APPROX 1 MI OUT AND 500' AGL. THE PIC WAS PF FROM THE R SEAT AND JUST AFTER TURNING FINAL OBSERVED THE OTHER (FASTER) ACFT BELOW AND SLIGHTLY TO THE R. THE SECOND ACFT PROCEEDED TO THE RWY AND LANDED, FORCING THE RPTING ACFT TO ABORT THE APCH TO LNDG. THE SECOND ACFT HAD APCHED THE ARPT FROM THE W AND MADE A R TURN TO LAND W/O REGARD FOR OTHER TFC OR PUBLISHED PATTERNS. APPARENTLY THE PLT OF THE SMT FAILED TO FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH THE ARPT OF INTENDED LNDG AND AS A RESULT VIOLATED A NUMBER OF FARS AND CREATED A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION.
