Narrative:
Emergency descent due to inadequate/malfunctioning door warning system. Previously written up and worked on by maintenance. False illumination of system caused emergency descent from 30000'. Crew realized in accordance with the procedures in aircraft flight manual and deviated from altitude assigned by ATC. HF comm was inadequate to obtain descent clearance and captain exercise emergency deviation authority.

Narrative: EMER DSNT DUE TO INADEQUATE/MALFUNCTIONING DOOR WARNING SYS. PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN UP AND WORKED ON BY MAINT. FALSE ILLUMINATION OF SYS CAUSED EMER DSNT FROM 30000'. CREW REALIZED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROCS IN ACFT FLT MANUAL AND DEVIATED FROM ALT ASSIGNED BY ATC. HF COMM WAS INADEQUATE TO OBTAIN DSNT CLRNC AND CAPT EXERCISE EMER DEV AUTHORITY.
