Narrative:
On the chsly arrival to clt; passed lyh; got into upset recovery due to following [an] A330 [that was] 12 miles ahead but not visible on TCAS. After second upset asked ATC who is around us; they responded [an A330]; asked for; and received vectors off chsly arrival. Landed normally with no further incidents.
