Narrative:

We had to execute a precautionary engine shutdown while en route from ZZZ to ZZZ1. Approximately ten minutes into the flight; a reduction in oil pressure was observed on the left engine. As soon as the discrepancy was observed; I requested an immediate return to ZZZ from center. During the turn; we shut down the left engine per the checklist. We were transferred to approach and [advised ATC of our situation]. I informed approach that we had performed an engine shutdown and would like crash fire and rescue to be at the runway when we landed. The landing was executed without incident and the aircraft was taxied to the ramp under its own power.
