Narrative:
I was single-staffing the TRACON assigned by the supervisor while the facility was below minimum staffing guidelines to have the TRACON open. Traffic went from moderate to busy for the facility. Aircraft X was an overflight landing in the airspace to our east. I was busy working other aircraft and call-ups when I noticed in my scan that aircraft X was close to the adjacent TRACON boundary. I needed to do an amendment to the route of aircraft X make a point out to the adjacent facility. I quickly made the point out then did the amendment but aircraft X may have gotten too close to the TRACON boundaries before the point out was made. In doing this; the hand off to another sector may have also occurred too late to maintain required separation.the atm (air traffic manager) needs to adequately staff the facility to avoid safety issues. Also; the supervisor should put safety before worrying about paperwork and being talked to by the atm.
