Narrative:
After landing on 19L and clearing and taxiing to taxiway B under progressive taxi by ground control and told to take second taxiway on right and with sun rising and bright on our right, we inadvertently turned onto inactive runway 14/32 and immediately initiated a turn to clear the runway when ground advised us to clear runway. We then taxied via cc and G to cargo. Nothing else was said by ground and I don't think any problem was caused. The sun being bright in our eyes after having flown all night, and being unfamiliar with airport were contributing factors.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: INADVERTENT RWY ENTRY BY ATC CARGO JET AT ICT.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON 19L AND CLRING AND TAXIING TO TXWY B UNDER PROGRESSIVE TAXI BY GND CTL AND TOLD TO TAKE SECOND TXWY ON RIGHT AND WITH SUN RISING AND BRIGHT ON OUR RIGHT, WE INADVERTENTLY TURNED ONTO INACTIVE RWY 14/32 AND IMMEDIATELY INITIATED A TURN TO CLR THE RWY WHEN GND ADVISED US TO CLR RWY. WE THEN TAXIED VIA CC AND G TO CARGO. NOTHING ELSE WAS SAID BY GND AND I DON'T THINK ANY PROB WAS CAUSED. THE SUN BEING BRIGHT IN OUR EYES AFTER HAVING FLOWN ALL NIGHT, AND BEING UNFAMILIAR WITH ARPT WERE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS.
