Narrative:
While operating into denver; ATIS advertised RNAV rnpz 16R. We briefed this approach and continued on flight plan. In the terminal area approach control assigned us vectors 16R. We decided to load the ILS 16R for situational awareness since it was night VMC. While on the downwind approach control assigned RNAV rnpz 16R. We quickly loaded it up and verified that all the points on the FMC checked with our published chart and started the approach normally. We were on the DME arc; on speed and on altitude in VMC; and we had a TCAS level off command. We turned the automation [on]; complied with the instruction while on the approach track; then received a TCAS climb. The guidance was not very aggressive; and we had the traffic in sight. We notified ATC about the event and continue to the landing phase of flight.
