Narrative:
The aircraft had MEL 29-xx; system a engine driven hydraulic pump depressurization. The main note only stated to start the number 1 engine only after the tow bar is disconnected. The captain bringing the aircraft in briefed me that he had talked to maintenance and was told to also make sure that when parking the aircraft to cycle the control column to depressurize the hydraulic system (just like we do when we are to be towed into the gate). I did also call maintenance and was told the same; but wondered why this was not mentioned in the MEL description. When we parked at the gate we did so and all was well.not sure if this is just a 'technique' or suggestion from maintenance in an 'abundance of safety'; but; if this is to be done or adds to safety of the tow connecting ramp agents; it should be added to the notes in the MEL.
