Narrative:
RNAV approach was discontinued for runway 19. The rnp is available for the newer airbuses. The older airbuses now must fly the lda Z approach. If this approach is flown as trained; there is an issue getting from fergi at 3000 to hatal at 2300 to besse at 1700 which is the FAF to start the flight path vector (fpv) to minimums. There is not enough room to make the descent and get stabilized with altitude capture at the crossing fixes. Usually ATC wants 170 knots until 5 miles out also. The best solution appears to have the flight path vector started at hatal or even fergi. Ensure the crossing restrictions are met at hatal and besse and wevpu. This provides a more stabilized descent instead of the current trained procedure of trying to capture an altitude prior to the FAF in a short distance that is not practical under real conditions.
