Narrative:
I opened [the finals sector] and my first aircraft was on the downwind. Last aircraft was aircraft X. After turning; clearing; [and] shipping my first aircraft to dca tower dca [local control] got in my ear and said something about aircraft X. I asked what they were talking about and looked to dca and saw aircraft X going through P56B. I immediately turned and asked [the previous controller] if he still had aircraft X and to try him to the tower again. I went back to working the traffic because volume was increasing [to ship].I realize it was an immediate communication but aircraft X was on a tower tag so dca tower should have known that [I] did not have the aircraft; and called [the previous sector]. I don't know when aircraft X went off course and if this communication could have prevented the P56 violation.
