Narrative:
This incident occurred on my first student solo x-country. I taxied onto taxiway 'alpha' and called the tower on 118.3 for further instructions. The tower gave me instruction for runway 2-7l. I repeated the instructions back to the tower 'affirmative, taxi onto runway 2-7l and hold.' then looking left saw the departing air carrier Y had begun its takeoff climb and had attained about 50' AGL. I then began taxiing into position on runway 2-7l. As I began to align the aircraft on the centerline of the runway the tower called 'small aircraft X get off the runway, air carrier Z is on final.' I cut the aircraft sharply to the right, adding power so that I could reach the passenger terminal side of the runway. Tower then asked air carrier Z on final 'can you take runway 27R?' to which they replied 'negative, we're in too tight.' tower then responded 'all right aircraft is clear of runway.' after crossing the hold line on the terminal side of runway 2-7. The tower instructed me to 'do a 180 there and hold short of runway 2-7l.' about 15 seconds after completing the 180 the approaching traffic passed perpendicular to my position. Approximately 20 seconds later the tower instructed me 'small aircraft X taxi into position and hold on runway 27L.' again I repeat the instructions as I heard them back to the tower 'affirmative, small aircraft X taxi onto runway 2-7l and hold', checked for oncoming traffic, taxied into position and waited. The tower gave me clearance for departure, I called back 'small aircraft X beginning takeoff roll, fly runway heading of 2-7-0.' upon contacting departure control the controller asked for the pilot's name and home base. I called the cincinnati approach by telephone to discuss what happened with approach supervisor. I described the events, she took my name and aircraft tail number then put me on hold. When she came back she said that they 'thought they had had a problem, but that it was cleared up.'

Title: SMA X TAXIED ONTO ACTIVE RWY WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED ON MY FIRST STUDENT SOLO X-COUNTRY. I TAXIED ONTO TXWY 'ALPHA' AND CALLED THE TWR ON 118.3 FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. THE TWR GAVE ME INSTRUCTION FOR RWY 2-7L. I REPEATED THE INSTRUCTIONS BACK TO THE TWR 'AFFIRMATIVE, TAXI ONTO RWY 2-7L AND HOLD.' THEN LOOKING L SAW THE DEPARTING ACR Y HAD BEGUN ITS TKOF CLB AND HAD ATTAINED ABOUT 50' AGL. I THEN BEGAN TAXIING INTO POS ON RWY 2-7L. AS I BEGAN TO ALIGN THE ACFT ON THE CTRLINE OF THE RWY THE TWR CALLED 'SMA X GET OFF THE RWY, ACR Z IS ON FINAL.' I CUT THE ACFT SHARPLY TO THE R, ADDING PWR SO THAT I COULD REACH THE PAX TERMINAL SIDE OF THE RWY. TWR THEN ASKED ACR Z ON FINAL 'CAN YOU TAKE RWY 27R?' TO WHICH THEY REPLIED 'NEGATIVE, WE'RE IN TOO TIGHT.' TWR THEN RESPONDED 'ALL RIGHT ACFT IS CLR OF RWY.' AFTER XING THE HOLD LINE ON THE TERMINAL SIDE OF RWY 2-7. THE TWR INSTRUCTED ME TO 'DO A 180 THERE AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 2-7L.' ABOUT 15 SECS AFTER COMPLETING THE 180 THE APCHING TFC PASSED PERPENDICULAR TO MY POS. APPROX 20 SECS LATER THE TWR INSTRUCTED ME 'SMA X TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 27L.' AGAIN I REPEAT THE INSTRUCTIONS AS I HEARD THEM BACK TO THE TWR 'AFFIRMATIVE, SMA X TAXI ONTO RWY 2-7L AND HOLD', CHKED FOR ONCOMING TFC, TAXIED INTO POS AND WAITED. THE TWR GAVE ME CLRNC FOR DEP, I CALLED BACK 'SMA X BEGINNING TKOF ROLL, FLY RWY HDG OF 2-7-0.' UPON CONTACTING DEP CTL THE CTLR ASKED FOR THE PLT'S NAME AND HOME BASE. I CALLED THE CINCINNATI APCH BY TELEPHONE TO DISCUSS WHAT HAPPENED WITH APCH SUPVR. I DESCRIBED THE EVENTS, SHE TOOK MY NAME AND ACFT TAIL NUMBER THEN PUT ME ON HOLD. WHEN SHE CAME BACK SHE SAID THAT THEY 'THOUGHT THEY HAD HAD A PROB, BUT THAT IT WAS CLRED UP.'
