Narrative:
Location 30 mi or so west bloomington, il proceeding south on V969. While looking out the window, I saw an aircraft at about my 12:30 somewhat higher than us. A few seconds later I idented it as an small aircraft. It appeared somewhat higher than us, so no evasive action was taken. As he passed overhead he seemed to have taken an evasive action of his own. He appeared to have pulled up and turned somewhat to his left. Just after he passed us my wife, sitting in the back, took notice of our altitude. It read 4700' MSL. I did not note altitude setting, however it was set to 614 MSL at lansing, il (3HA) and it did not need any changing when I departed springfield, il later that same evening.
