Narrative:

During cruise at FL350 the avionic smoke warning went off. While the first officer handled the checklist, I declared an emergency and ZMA cleared us to pta. A short time later the min equipment bay smoke alarm went off. ZMA suggested pls. At 120 NM we began a descent to pls and after doing checklist and about 10 or 15 mins both warnings disappeared. A trace of smoke was present. An uneventful landing was made. The aircraft shutdown completely on the ramp and the 168 passenger were disembarked via pay stand.
