Narrative:
I was sitting in the right seat of a C340 on flight returning to ZZZ. After normal visual approach and landing to runway 06; during rollout; the left brake system apparently malfunctioned. This resulted in difficulty for the pilot to stop the aircraft on runway. The pilot utilized a higher speed than normal 'end of runway' turnoff that resulted in the aircraft briefly overshooting taxiway H prior to returning to taxiway H. Aircraft was taxied to hangar utilizing differential power and the right brake system. No emergency was declared or assistance requested.
