Narrative:
I was finishing the last row with beverage service when unexpected turbulence hit. I was holding onto the cart so that it wouldn't injure any passengers. I was lifted for a second and landed wrong on my feet. I then hit my back on the bulkhead in the aft galley; then proceeded to hit my back again onto the corner of the jump seat. At that time I felt a very sharp and horrible pain in my back. At this point I was sitting up in a lot of pain crying in agony. Flight attendant-a notified the flight deck of the situation and paged for medical assistance. We did have a nurse and also a cps onboard. They attended to my injury and had me lay on my side which was so painful to do. At this point the captain came on a notified the passengers that we had to land and that medical personnel will be coming on board to assist me. I remained on the galley floor in pain the entire time we were landing until we got to the gate. I was taken off the aircraft and was immediately taken to the hospital.
