Narrative:
[I was] returning to home airport in an aircraft with a failed vacuum pump. Metar was 1;900 MSL with good visibility and conditions forecast to improve. [I] experienced degrading MVFR conditions in light rain about 10 northeast and diverted east. [I] turned south to avoid a tower near the flight path and received a 500 foot AGL annunciation via foreflight/stratus. With the increased workload of partial panel; I did not maintain my target altitude following a power reduction. [I] remedied with a pitch change and trim adjustment. Visibility and ceiling improved prior to crossing ZZZ and [I] was able to complete the rest of the flight in VFR weather.
