Narrative:
Mistakenly had 1 kg. Of dry ice loaded in the aft cargo bin for our flight. This happened due to the fact that we had a live animal loaded in the front cargo bay. The ramp crew and flight crew knew the procedure to separate live animals and dry ice from each other for the safety of the animal. The flight crew received the dry ice report with the load report at the last minute and failed to realize that dry ice is prohibited in the aft cargo bin as per the aircraft limitations. Our main concern was to protect the live animal from the dry ice.
