Narrative:

Made standard power takeoff runway 30L at sjc. Aircraft behind us was cleared into position and he reported a section of asphalt had blown off the runway surface. On climb out we talked with this aircraft and the tower and both indicated the debris had broken loose a distance behind our aircraft. None of the debris had touched the aircraft and that there was no damage to our aircraft. After completion of departure, we called the tower back for any elaboration they might have. Nothing was different and the aircraft we had talked to (the one cleared into position behind us) was also still on the frequency. Again he indicated there was no damage to our aircraft. I made the decision to continue to jfk. At level off I called dispatch and relayed the sequence of events. I requested maintenance inspect the aircraft at jfk and no damage was found. Follow up information revealed the runway patch that was dislodged was repaired the previous evening. I don't know if the patch had enough time to set up or if the edges were sealed. I hope this was just a fluke in runway repair.

Title: UPON INITIAL POWER APPLICATION OF ADVANCED LGT TYPE ACFT A PORTION OF PAVEMENT SURFACE BEHIND THE ACFT WAS BLOWN LOOSE. FOLLOWING ACFT WAS NOT DAMAGED BY FLYING DEBRIS AND COMMUNICATED WITH FLT CREW OF ACFT TAKING OFF.

Narrative: MADE STANDARD PWR TKOF RWY 30L AT SJC. ACFT BEHIND US WAS CLRED INTO POS AND HE RPTED A SECTION OF ASPHALT HAD BLOWN OFF THE RWY SURFACE. ON CLBOUT WE TALKED WITH THIS ACFT AND THE TWR AND BOTH INDICATED THE DEBRIS HAD BROKEN LOOSE A DISTANCE BEHIND OUR ACFT. NONE OF THE DEBRIS HAD TOUCHED THE ACFT AND THAT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO OUR ACFT. AFTER COMPLETION OF DEP, WE CALLED THE TWR BACK FOR ANY ELABORATION THEY MIGHT HAVE. NOTHING WAS DIFFERENT AND THE ACFT WE HAD TALKED TO (THE ONE CLRED INTO POS BEHIND US) WAS ALSO STILL ON THE FREQ. AGAIN HE INDICATED THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO OUR ACFT. I MADE THE DECISION TO CONTINUE TO JFK. AT LEVEL OFF I CALLED DISPATCH AND RELAYED THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS. I REQUESTED MAINT INSPECT THE ACFT AT JFK AND NO DAMAGE WAS FOUND. FOLLOW UP INFO REVEALED THE RWY PATCH THAT WAS DISLODGED WAS REPAIRED THE PREVIOUS EVENING. I DON'T KNOW IF THE PATCH HAD ENOUGH TIME TO SET UP OR IF THE EDGES WERE SEALED. I HOPE THIS WAS JUST A FLUKE IN RWY REPAIR.
