Narrative:
During climb #1 engine ran away with subsequent malfunction of autoplt and yaw damper. While controling aircraft we were forced to level at FL210 while climbing to FL240. Traffic was in front of us and on parallel course we turned to 250 degree and cleared to maintain 10000 ft. Emergency was declared and flight was continued to sjc on 3 engines.

Narrative: DURING CLB #1 ENG RAN AWAY WITH SUBSEQUENT MALFUNCTION OF AUTOPLT AND YAW DAMPER. WHILE CTLING ACFT WE WERE FORCED TO LEVEL AT FL210 WHILE CLBING TO FL240. TFC WAS IN FRONT OF US AND ON PARALLEL COURSE WE TURNED TO 250 DEG AND CLRED TO MAINTAIN 10000 FT. EMER WAS DECLARED AND FLT WAS CONTINUED TO SJC ON 3 ENGS.
