Narrative:
The flight, being flown by the first officer, was cleared for a visibility approach to runway 32L at O'hare airport. Vectoring and turn to final was normal. The aircraft was configured with gear down, landing flaps, and on speed schedule throughout approach and landing. All SOP's were followed including callouts at 50', 30', and 10'. T/D was in landing zone and no apparent deviation from normal landing technique was observed. Post-flight examination revealed that the aft belly area was scrapping causing minor skin damage. Landing time was early am:30 after an all night flight from anc. Fatigue may have contributed to loss of perceptual clues if any pilot factor was involved. Training and designing deficiency definitely contributes to the numerous incidents of this nature. Supplemental information from acn 156094. Smooth T/D. Held nose off runway, no unusual noise or signs in cockpit. On taxi in, rear F/a called cockpit stating she thought tail scraped runway on rollout. At gate we checked tail, fuel gang drain and some skin made runway contact, damage appeared minimal.

Title: TAIL STRIKE ON LGT.
Narrative: THE FLT, BEING FLOWN BY THE F/O, WAS CLRED FOR A VIS APCH TO RWY 32L AT O'HARE ARPT. VECTORING AND TURN TO FINAL WAS NORMAL. THE ACFT WAS CONFIGURED WITH GEAR DOWN, LNDG FLAPS, AND ON SPD SCHEDULE THROUGHOUT APCH AND LNDG. ALL SOP'S WERE FOLLOWED INCLUDING CALLOUTS AT 50', 30', AND 10'. T/D WAS IN LNDG ZONE AND NO APPARENT DEV FROM NORMAL LNDG TECHNIQUE WAS OBSERVED. POST-FLT EXAMINATION REVEALED THAT THE AFT BELLY AREA WAS SCRAPPING CAUSING MINOR SKIN DAMAGE. LNDG TIME WAS EARLY AM:30 AFTER AN ALL NIGHT FLT FROM ANC. FATIGUE MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO LOSS OF PERCEPTUAL CLUES IF ANY PLT FACTOR WAS INVOLVED. TRAINING AND DESIGNING DEFICIENCY DEFINITELY CONTRIBUTES TO THE NUMEROUS INCIDENTS OF THIS NATURE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 156094. SMOOTH T/D. HELD NOSE OFF RWY, NO UNUSUAL NOISE OR SIGNS IN COCKPIT. ON TAXI IN, REAR F/A CALLED COCKPIT STATING SHE THOUGHT TAIL SCRAPED RWY ON ROLLOUT. AT GATE WE CHKED TAIL, FUEL GANG DRAIN AND SOME SKIN MADE RWY CONTACT, DAMAGE APPEARED MINIMAL.
