Narrative:
Initial clearance was runway heading, climb to 15000'. Air carrier X was given a left turn to the northeast and leveled at 8000' for traffic. After a few mins we were given climb clearance to 15000'. After we initiated the climb departure called traffic 11-12 O'clock, 8100'. Small transport Y passed off our right wing opp direction at 8100'. The controller climbed us into the conflict and then called the traffic leaving us not time to make evasive action.
