Narrative:
We departed lax on a scheduled flight to oak. Clearance was via the gorman 8 SID, we expected rv to the lax 323 degree right etc. Takeoff was on runway 25R, maintain 5000'. Changed to departure control, then cleared to maintain 9000'. About 6 mi west of lax, turn right to 090 degree. Climbing and turning through about 60 degree, departure control said 'turn back to left to 270 degree.' first officer started back left, controller then gave us traffic at 2 O'clock, descending to 6000'. We were climbing through about 6500' at that time. As we left 7000' I told the controller we were out of 7000'. He said to continue the turn, which we were doing. As we passed through about 360 degree, the controller called traffic at 12 O'clock descending through your altitude. We observed a blue medium large transport about 1 mi in front of us. After the traffic cleared the controller stopped our turn at 300 degree. We were then cleared to gorman and changed frequency. Continued to oak normally.

Title: ACR GIVEN AMENDED HEADINGS AND ALTS ON INITIAL CLIMB FOR SEPARATION OF DESCENDING TRAFFIC.
Narrative: WE DEPARTED LAX ON A SCHEDULED FLT TO OAK. CLRNC WAS VIA THE GORMAN 8 SID, WE EXPECTED RV TO THE LAX 323 DEG R ETC. TKOF WAS ON RWY 25R, MAINTAIN 5000'. CHANGED TO DEP CTL, THEN CLRED TO MAINTAIN 9000'. ABOUT 6 MI W OF LAX, TURN R TO 090 DEG. CLBING AND TURNING THROUGH ABOUT 60 DEG, DEP CTL SAID 'TURN BACK TO L TO 270 DEG.' F/O STARTED BACK L, CTLR THEN GAVE US TFC AT 2 O'CLOCK, DSNDING TO 6000'. WE WERE CLBING THROUGH ABOUT 6500' AT THAT TIME. AS WE L 7000' I TOLD THE CTLR WE WERE OUT OF 7000'. HE SAID TO CONTINUE THE TURN, WHICH WE WERE DOING. AS WE PASSED THROUGH ABOUT 360 DEG, THE CTLR CALLED TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK DSNDING THROUGH YOUR ALT. WE OBSERVED A BLUE MLG ABOUT 1 MI IN FRONT OF US. AFTER THE TFC CLRED THE CTLR STOPPED OUR TURN AT 300 DEG. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO GORMAN AND CHANGED FREQ. CONTINUED TO OAK NORMALLY.
