Narrative:
We left the gate at scotts bluff at XA30. All systems and annunciators were functioning normally. We started the takeoff roll. Everything came up normal. As the nose wheel left the ground, the back wheels hit a little bump on the runway and the master caution light went on. My first officer notified me it was the aft cabin door annunciator that had illuminated. Once reaching pattern altitude we decided to return and land and go back to the gate to resecure the door. Once reaching the gate my first officer along with the gate agent went to the back of the aircraft, opened the door and then resecured it, extinguishing the aft cabin door annunciator. The first officer checked all the other locking verification methods and everything was operating as it should have. Both of us were confident the system was functioning normally. After reconfiguring the weights and getting a new release we departed for den and never had a problem with the aft cabin door or its annunciator the rest of the day.

ONCE REACHING THE GATE MY F/O ALONG WITH THE GATE AGENT WENT TO THE BACK OF THE ACFT, OPENED THE DOOR AND THEN RESECURED IT, EXTINGUISHING THE AFT CABIN DOOR ANNUNCIATOR. THE F/O CHKED ALL THE OTHER LOCKING VERIFICATION METHODS AND EVERYTHING WAS OPERATING AS IT SHOULD HAVE. BOTH OF US WERE CONFIDENT THE SYS WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY.
