Narrative:
I had just relieved a controller on local and started to work. The small aircraft X which was on final for runway 25R at the time of the relief briefing landed on taxiway alpha. I had just taken the position a min before the occurrence. Due to the recent resurfacing and widening of this taxiway there have been over 25 taxiway lndgs on it. I believe this is due to limited markings on it which is also the same reason implied by the pilots. The pilot was counseled by the area supervisor with no further action to be taken! A contributing factor my have been that the pilot was landing to the west with the sun directly in his eyes. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Reporter stated type aircraft was small aircraft. Pilot violations are not being filed by order of the facility manager. Ucr has not been filed. Facility manager has not sent letter to airman about the problem. Facility manager has not met with airport district office about airport markings. Facility manager has issued recent directive for information to be put on ATIS. 'Caution there is a parallel taxiway north of runway 25R'. Reporter said there have not been any inadvertent lndgs with this new information on the ATIS.

Title: SMA X LANDED ON PARALLEL TXWY ALPHA VS RWY 25R. PLTDEV. SITUATION: 33 INADVERTENT LNDGS ON TXWY 'A' SINCE WIDENING AND RESURFACING IN 1/90.
Narrative: I HAD JUST RELIEVED A CTLR ON LCL AND STARTED TO WORK. THE SMA X WHICH WAS ON FINAL FOR RWY 25R AT THE TIME OF THE RELIEF BRIEFING LANDED ON TXWY ALPHA. I HAD JUST TAKEN THE POS A MIN BEFORE THE OCCURRENCE. DUE TO THE RECENT RESURFACING AND WIDENING OF THIS TXWY THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 25 TXWY LNDGS ON IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO LIMITED MARKINGS ON IT WHICH IS ALSO THE SAME REASON IMPLIED BY THE PLTS. THE PLT WAS COUNSELED BY THE AREA SUPVR WITH NO FURTHER ACTION TO BE TAKEN! A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR MY HAVE BEEN THAT THE PLT WAS LNDG TO THE W WITH THE SUN DIRECTLY IN HIS EYES. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO. RPTR STATED TYPE ACFT WAS SMA. PLT VIOLATIONS ARE NOT BEING FILED BY ORDER OF THE FAC MGR. UCR HAS NOT BEEN FILED. FAC MGR HAS NOT SENT LETTER TO AIRMAN ABOUT THE PROB. FAC MGR HAS NOT MET WITH ARPT DISTRICT OFFICE ABOUT ARPT MARKINGS. FAC MGR HAS ISSUED RECENT DIRECTIVE FOR INFO TO BE PUT ON ATIS. 'CAUTION THERE IS A PARALLEL TXWY N OF RWY 25R'. RPTR SAID THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ANY INADVERTENT LNDGS WITH THIS NEW INFO ON THE ATIS.
