Cleared the crede 3 except maintain 300 knots; delete the speed restrictions. The next controller gave us published speed by tukkk; then maintain 210 [heading]; then 280; slow to 210 at cliff. 5 speed changes in less than 100 miles. These arrivals are supposed to reduce workload and distractions. This has to stop.

Title: Air carrier flight crew were given 5 different speed assignments on the CREDE 3 STAR.

Narrative: Cleared the CREDE 3 EXCEPT maintain 300 knots; delete the speed restrictions. The next controller gave us published speed by TUKKK; THEN maintain 210 [heading]; then 280; slow to 210 at CLIFF. 5 speed changes in less than 100 miles. These arrivals are supposed to reduce workload and distractions. This has to stop.
