Narrative:
Cpr X cleared for visibility approach to runway 02R pdk. Had departed previously assigned altitude of 3000' MSL, flying 290 degree heading for normal right base. Approach flaps and gear down. Spotted helicopter Y 12:30 and slightly below us. Saw it for just a split second as it appeared in lower left-hand corner of right-hand windshield. Flight path opp our own. Took evasive action with left bank/pull-up. We were talking to pdk tower. 2 tower frequencys were in use, I believe. We were not issued traffic advisory, nor was helicopter heard on our tower frequency. PNF contacted tower. They were aware of its position, and advised us that it was transitioning the area. We commented that it had been close in response. Resumed normal approach and landing. Event underscored the importance of vigilance and eyes outside the aircraft, especially in the busy reliever-airport environment where the mix of aircraft type can be extreme. We were surprised not to have received an advisory from ATC, and alter advised the tower of the event.

Title: LCL CTL POSITION #1 FAILED TO ATCT INTRAFAC COORD WITH LCL CTL POSITION #2. RESULTING IN A CONFLICT BETWEEN 2 ACFT.
Narrative: CPR X CLRED FOR VIS APCH TO RWY 02R PDK. HAD DEPARTED PREVIOUSLY ASSIGNED ALT OF 3000' MSL, FLYING 290 DEG HDG FOR NORMAL RIGHT BASE. APCH FLAPS AND GEAR DOWN. SPOTTED HELI Y 12:30 AND SLIGHTLY BELOW US. SAW IT FOR JUST A SPLIT SECOND AS IT APPEARED IN LOWER LEFT-HAND CORNER OF RIGHT-HAND WINDSHIELD. FLT PATH OPP OUR OWN. TOOK EVASIVE ACTION WITH LEFT BANK/PULL-UP. WE WERE TALKING TO PDK TWR. 2 TWR FREQS WERE IN USE, I BELIEVE. WE WERE NOT ISSUED TFC ADVISORY, NOR WAS HELI HEARD ON OUR TWR FREQ. PNF CONTACTED TWR. THEY WERE AWARE OF ITS POS, AND ADVISED US THAT IT WAS TRANSITIONING THE AREA. WE COMMENTED THAT IT HAD BEEN CLOSE IN RESPONSE. RESUMED NORMAL APCH AND LNDG. EVENT UNDERSCORED THE IMPORTANCE OF VIGILANCE AND EYES OUTSIDE THE ACFT, ESPECIALLY IN THE BUSY RELIEVER-ARPT ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE MIX OF ACFT TYPE CAN BE EXTREME. WE WERE SURPRISED NOT TO HAVE RECEIVED AN ADVISORY FROM ATC, AND ALTER ADVISED THE TWR OF THE EVENT.
