Narrative:
On taxi in to gate at pit several tugs were parked in a line very close to taxi path. I stopped the aircraft. The first officer leaned out at the waist and gave me a verbal 'all clear' and a thumbs up. I made a slight angling left turn into the gate and apparently the right landing light brushed the corner of one tug. The lens itself was not even cracked however, maintenance changed the assembly (bracket) and caused no delay in our flight series. As captain I know the responsibility is mine. However, I could not see the right side of the aircraft and was cleared to move by my first officer. I believe in the crew concept. In the future if there is a question, I will hold my position and call for a ground crew.

Title: TAXIING INTO GATE AT PIT, PARKED TUGS IN CLOSE PROX. FO VISUALLY SIGHTING ON THE TUGS GAVE OK FOR CAPT TO PROCEED FORWARD. LIGHT ON WING LIGHTLY SCRAPED A TUG. LIGHT AND BRACKET REPLACED.
Narrative: ON TAXI IN TO GATE AT PIT SEVERAL TUGS WERE PARKED IN A LINE VERY CLOSE TO TAXI PATH. I STOPPED THE ACFT. THE F/O LEANED OUT AT THE WAIST AND GAVE ME A VERBAL 'ALL CLR' AND A THUMBS UP. I MADE A SLIGHT ANGLING L TURN INTO THE GATE AND APPARENTLY THE R LNDG LIGHT BRUSHED THE CORNER OF ONE TUG. THE LENS ITSELF WAS NOT EVEN CRACKED HOWEVER, MAINT CHANGED THE ASSEMBLY (BRACKET) AND CAUSED NO DELAY IN OUR FLT SERIES. AS CAPT I KNOW THE RESPONSIBILITY IS MINE. HOWEVER, I COULD NOT SEE THE R SIDE OF THE ACFT AND WAS CLRED TO MOVE BY MY F/O. I BELIEVE IN THE CREW CONCEPT. IN THE FUTURE IF THERE IS A QUESTION, I WILL HOLD MY POS AND CALL FOR A GND CREW.
