Narrative:
I was conducting night takeoffs and land to keep up currency I was on the 4TH takeoff. We were stay in the pattern, lift off was normal. Left turn at 600' AGL set up land checklist 1ST checked gas then lowered gear switch and followed safety lever down, check mixture on downwind when I turn base I started look at end of runway for deer. (We have a major deer problem on runway 24 and 18 on T/D areas at night. Just missed one on my second landing this night). Continued on looking for deer when we turn final for runway 24 got propeller and set up landing for just past the 2ND VASI. Normal approach approximately 90 mph on final. When we flared everything seemed normal. At T/D wheels chirped, I then took one notch off flaps off to put weight on gear. When they collapsed and aircraft settled onto runway and slid approximately 850'. On inspection afterwards it was found that gear selector was in down position, warning horn only sounded after T/D and fuse for gear was popped. There were no injuries and minimum damage to aircraft.
