Narrative:
Upon arrival and during post flight walk-around; first officer discovered ground crew muscling out of the cargo hold an electric scooter that was tagged as a gate check. Ramp estimated the scooter at 100-150lbs far in excess what a standard folding wheelchair weighs![airline] must immediately establish procedures monitored by FAA oversight to deal with the handling of electric scooters and electric wheelchairs for determining their weight. In addition; a form should be created in triplicate that notifies the PIC of their presence and that the ground staff has properly verified their power source (battery) is approved to be carried aboard our aircraft.
