Narrative:
Noise abatement procedures out of orange county (all aircraft). From rotating to 20 degree pitch to 4000' MSL using managed navigation in glass cockpit. In the busiest area in the country on departures out of sna because of the departure and noise procedures both PF and PNF do not have time to look out of the cockpit until the shoreline 4000' MSL. This is an accident waiting to happen. We had the quietest aircraft made going into sna. We (all airlines) should not use these noise abatement procedures because we al fly the newest/quietest airliners made into this airport. These noise procedures are unsafe as well as the short runway. Somehow we must make orange county decide whether they want a safe airport or no airport! I thought dca was bad--this is ridiculous.

Title: REPORTER PROTESTS SNA DEP NOISE ABATEMENT PROC AS UNSAFE.
Narrative: NOISE ABATEMENT PROCS OUT OF ORANGE COUNTY (ALL ACFT). FROM ROTATING TO 20 DEG PITCH TO 4000' MSL USING MANAGED NAV IN GLASS COCKPIT. IN THE BUSIEST AREA IN THE COUNTRY ON DEPS OUT OF SNA BECAUSE OF THE DEP AND NOISE PROCS BOTH PF AND PNF DO NOT HAVE TIME TO LOOK OUT OF THE COCKPIT UNTIL THE SHORELINE 4000' MSL. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE HAD THE QUIETEST ACFT MADE GOING INTO SNA. WE (ALL AIRLINES) SHOULD NOT USE THESE NOISE ABATEMENT PROCS BECAUSE WE AL FLY THE NEWEST/QUIETEST AIRLINERS MADE INTO THIS ARPT. THESE NOISE PROCS ARE UNSAFE AS WELL AS THE SHORT RWY. SOMEHOW WE MUST MAKE ORANGE COUNTY DECIDE WHETHER THEY WANT A SAFE ARPT OR NO ARPT! I THOUGHT DCA WAS BAD--THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
