Narrative:
At about 4 mi nne of 2w6, at 2500' MSL, reported the airport in sight, cancelled IFR and changed to the CTAF frequency. Announced position and intentions on CTAF. As I initiated a left descending turn onto downwind for the active runway, the passenger in the right rear seat called traffic at 2 O'clock high descending on a parallel course. As the left turn continued, the right rear seat passenger called the traffic again with, 'he's right on top of us, go down.' I steepened the turn and increased the descent rate. Because of the turn the right side passenger lost the traffic. As the turn continued, they picked the traffic up on the left side of the aircraft and watched him pass over the top of us at approximately 200' sep, according to the passenger. Landing was accomplished west/O further incident.

Title: PLT OF SMA WITH 2 PASSENGERS TOOK EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID CONFLICT WITH SMT AS BOTH JOINED THE TRAFFIC PATTERN.
Narrative: AT ABOUT 4 MI NNE OF 2W6, AT 2500' MSL, RPTED THE ARPT IN SIGHT, CANCELLED IFR AND CHANGED TO THE CTAF FREQ. ANNOUNCED POS AND INTENTIONS ON CTAF. AS I INITIATED A LEFT DSNDING TURN ONTO DOWNWIND FOR THE ACTIVE RWY, THE PAX IN THE RIGHT REAR SEAT CALLED TFC AT 2 O'CLOCK HIGH DSNDING ON A PARALLEL COURSE. AS THE LEFT TURN CONTINUED, THE RIGHT REAR SEAT PAX CALLED THE TFC AGAIN WITH, 'HE'S RIGHT ON TOP OF US, GO DOWN.' I STEEPENED THE TURN AND INCREASED THE DSNT RATE. BECAUSE OF THE TURN THE RIGHT SIDE PAX LOST THE TFC. AS THE TURN CONTINUED, THEY PICKED THE TFC UP ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ACFT AND WATCHED HIM PASS OVER THE TOP OF US AT APPROX 200' SEP, ACCORDING TO THE PAX. LNDG WAS ACCOMPLISHED W/O FURTHER INCIDENT.
