Narrative:
At sna cleared to taxi to runway 1L. Only directions were, 'hold short of taxiway delta.' conditions were dark, blowing dust, winds gusting 25-35 KTS, txwys under constructions and using an infrequently used runway. While taxiing we encountered barricades forming an arc to the right and the taxi line indicated a right turn. We followed the line with limited visibility and came to a left turn. As soon as we made the left turn I realized we were on a 2800' runway used by light aircraft. Before we could reach the first turnoff, an small aircraft had to make a missed approach due to our position. Ground control did not notice our wrong turn until advised by the small aircraft, and we were exiting the runway when ground advised us we were on the runway. This error was made due to local WX conditions, taxiing at night in construction areas with no guidance from ground control, and taxiing to a runway which is very seldom used. After reviewing what happened I must, as always, accept responsibility for what occurred; however, I feel that the ground controller just assumed I was familiar with the construction when he should have given more complete taxi instructions. He also should have been watching my progress. My mistake came some distance before arriving at the runway.

Title: ACR MLG UNAUTH RWY ENTRY CAUSES GA SMA GO AROUND.
Narrative: AT SNA CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 1L. ONLY DIRECTIONS WERE, 'HOLD SHORT OF TXWY DELTA.' CONDITIONS WERE DARK, BLOWING DUST, WINDS GUSTING 25-35 KTS, TXWYS UNDER CONSTRUCTIONS AND USING AN INFREQUENTLY USED RWY. WHILE TAXIING WE ENCOUNTERED BARRICADES FORMING AN ARC TO THE RIGHT AND THE TAXI LINE INDICATED A RIGHT TURN. WE FOLLOWED THE LINE WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY AND CAME TO A LEFT TURN. AS SOON AS WE MADE THE LEFT TURN I REALIZED WE WERE ON A 2800' RWY USED BY LIGHT ACFT. BEFORE WE COULD REACH THE FIRST TURNOFF, AN SMA HAD TO MAKE A MISSED APCH DUE TO OUR POS. GND CTL DID NOT NOTICE OUR WRONG TURN UNTIL ADVISED BY THE SMA, AND WE WERE EXITING THE RWY WHEN GND ADVISED US WE WERE ON THE RWY. THIS ERROR WAS MADE DUE TO LCL WX CONDITIONS, TAXIING AT NIGHT IN CONSTRUCTION AREAS WITH NO GUIDANCE FROM GND CTL, AND TAXIING TO A RWY WHICH IS VERY SELDOM USED. AFTER REVIEWING WHAT HAPPENED I MUST, AS ALWAYS, ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT OCCURRED; HOWEVER, I FEEL THAT THE GND CTLR JUST ASSUMED I WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN MORE COMPLETE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS. HE ALSO SHOULD HAVE BEEN WATCHING MY PROGRESS. MY MISTAKE CAME SOME DISTANCE BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE RWY.
