Narrative:
Left engine started missing and surging. Tried all normal modes to smooth out engine roughness, to no avail. (Engine was also losing power). Advised dallas approach and love tower of precautionary shutdown and that aircraft was under control and no assistance needed. Landed aircraft west/O incident. After landing mechanics found loose fuel line squirting fuel which could have caused a serious in-flight fire. Good decision made by pilot.
